Nearly A New Year

I literally can not believe that 2010 is coming to it's end! This must have been the fastest passing year of my life. So much has happened in a short 365 days that I am kind of reeling while trying to reflect upon it all.

The biggest changes were, of course, much needed ones. I moved to be with my mother, because I needed a helping hand to get a firm footing for the real world. The move required me to leave behind my white, sandy beaches for some white, snowy mountains. Okay, so it hasn't been snowy the whole time, but it did blizzard today. (Just in case you weren't aware, blizzard is now a verb.)

Another HUGE change is actually working... a lot! I'm averaging about thirty five hours a week, plus 10 more for commute; and I wonder where my time goes. I honestly LOVE my job. Okay, well I love it most of the time. The only part I truly loathe is trying to push an electronics caf on an 200,000+ sales day. That's rough; even more rough if there's cd's on it. The best part about my job is that I feel like a valued, dependable member of my team. That makes everything worth it. The paycheck also doesn't hurt.

All the holidays this year were nice and quiet. It's a good change of pace when you're used to huge, dysfunctional gatherings. Christmas brought a lot of wonderful presents, the most wonderful being my brand new laptop from which I am now writing. It'll really help me when I start classes sometime in this new coming year. It will help kill some of my current boredom as well I hope.

I feel a lot... older. Maybe wiser too, I am not sure yet. Definitely older though. Each new day is bringing new challenges and lessons for me to face and learn, and each day I begin to feel better equiped to face my journey.
I can't wait to see what the new year brings. If I've learned anything this year though, it's that it will bring me exactly what I need.
