Well there is a surplus of spilled oil that seems to have disappeared... until now.
An oil-eating microbe has been found in the gulf. If you are anything like me you just said ''SAY WHAT?!" Yeah, a bacteria was formed that helps in the process of the degradation of oil. It wasn't anything man made, in fact we just now discovered it and that's because it just formed itself. Now if that isn't a God thing I don't know what is.
Okay, so you're thinking ''but there is a lot of missing oil to be accounted for.'' Yes there certainly is. BUT the COREXIT that we originally thought was suffocating the water column is actually helping because it is making the oil particles smaller so that the microbe can dissolve them faster. Again, say what? Uh-huh. This miraculous microbe, which is related to members of the Oceanospirillales family, is working cooperatively with other elements to fix our problem. The lower oxygen level of the column is being caused by this microbe because it has a high iron level. The iron is going to these microbes to aid in the bio-degradation of the oil instead of making more oxygen. Somehow nature has figured out that right now, more oxygen is just superfluous and it needs to be healing itself. What's more, this microbe THRIVES in the kind of cold water that the oil spilled in.
This is such a God thing. He's got everything in his hands. ''[Sparrows, which can be bought cheaply, can not fall from the sky without the Lord willing it. He knows each individual hair on your head and he counts you far greater than the sparrow]'' (Matthew 10:29-31). I truly believe that acts of God can be clearly seen through nature. What we learn from nature in this is that we need to stop wasting so much effort in creating worry, and spend it turning to the one who manages EVERYTHING.
God, you are so awesome. I don't know how I forget that so often, and can't even imagine why I ever attempt to box you in. You can't be. You are everything. All glory goes to you.
