Have you ever been to SeaWorld??? I've been once. I didn't have a horrendous experience, but up until now I didn't realize what an amazing experience I had.First of all I got to feed a dolphin, how cool is that? I got to run my hands along the smooth, rubbery skin of an animal that is wiser than most humans I know. I got to put a piece of fish into it's mouth. That's something that I don't really think about all too often, but I got to do it. Then I got to see a truly amazing creature. Shamu. I've never really thought about how truly awesome killer whales are. I've mainly never thought about it because when I saw a video of one tossing around a seal pup like a rag doll, I was extremely turned off by the creatures. But I got to thinking tonight... I saw an animal that weighs 9,000+ pounds propel itself feet out of the water. I'm a few hundred pounds less than even close to a 10th of that, yet I can't even jump an inch out of the water. And I am using the ground to jump, they don't have legs and can't use anything to push off of. What in the world? How did an animal so big just do that? What's more is, not only did this animal that weighs 9,000+ pounds jump feet out of the water once, but he did dozens of times. Is that as amazing to anyone else as it is to me?
Can humans be this agile? Is there anything out there that looks at us with amazement and wonder? Anything that ''says'' to itself, ''are humans as amazing to anyone else as they are to me?'' Knee-jerk reaction answer: I can't think of a thing that would think humans are amazing. Well except another human. We steal. We kill. We lie. We cheat. We are beings prone to depravity. We don't react on instinct alone and can't be one with nature. We have to use other things to produce any agility we may have. Worst thing though is... we hate.
Hate has an opposite though, and that is love. The agility of humans is their ability to love. That's my latest theory. Everything mankind has ever done has been inspired by love of some kind. Love of another, or love a topic/subject/thing. A human used it's mind to create this computer I am typing on right now. It used it's mind to create this thing called the internet, and this website called blogger, where I can come type up my crazy theories and tell you about feeding dolphins at SeaWorld. Our minds are like these 9,000+ pounded animals, that when motivated by love can propel themselves to leap feet out of the waters of thought. That when motivated by love can produce these very visible results.
