The world didn't end on Saturday... but as I spent 11 hours of that day sleeping off my work-week hangover, I couldn't have told you the difference anyways.
I think I mentioned previously, that I no longer am on "stick." I now get the delightful pleasure of running a machine. I got trained the week previous to this one on the slowest machine in our particular factory. I spent the entirety of this week on one of our fastest... the three nights combined I helped to produce roughly 32,000 cases of 35 water bottles. (I've done the math for you) That's 1,120,000 bottles of water! Who feels super-productive? Yep, you've got it, I do! It's no wonder I spent so much time in sweet slumber on my first day off.
As I was telling my good friends, I definitely DO NOT want to do such labor-intensive work for the rest of my life, but I now am thrilled with my job. It's probably just the high of learning new things though, and I could see it wearing off... especially on nights when the machine decides to be difficult.
I've got one more week of training, then a few weeks until I get my forklift training. As you'd imagine, I'm highly anticipating that! I don't think I'll be too good though, in all actuality, because I am challenged in the art of reverse driving... and as a temp, any accident I get into can lose me my job. I most definitely DO NOT need that.
I've much to do today, as my Sunday was definitely a lazy one. I'm hi- and low-lighting my hair today. On my own. Wish me luck! I've got a couple weeks of laundry piled up. A puzzle that's in desperate need of finishing, as well as a pint of B&J's Half Baked to devour. On top of all this, mama and I are going into town to see the new Pirates movie. Glad I'll still have a day off after this one lol.
