Cycling for Six Paks - Phenom #1

In honor of Earth Day, so recently passed, I chose a phenom which is beneficial to the environment.

In Harrisonburg, Virginia a tradition has been started. That of the Six Pak Downhill ''Race.''
Every Fall Friday groups of mountain-bikers meet at the Food Lion on 42 before 3pm.
They come willingly knowing that they will be ''racing'' mountain-bikes down hill in a short while. The cost to enter this ''race'' is one six pack of beverage, typically beer.
The group then caravans it out to the mountains to begin the activities. ''Racers'' of all abilities and skill levels TAKE THEIR TIME getting up the mountain. Once at top names are taken and the ''races'' begin. Riders descend the mountain in 30 second intervals and times are calculated at the bottom.
The winner gets something special. Something real special.
He/She gets the esteemed privilege of hosting a party at their own humble abode. Complete with the cooler full of entry fees. The winner also must ride a Trek Navigator (apparently this is some sort of ''comfort cruiser'' bike) the following week.
On Saturday, proceeding the race, the six pakers meet back up to improve the trails in their area (the environment improving part of this tale).

P-county six pak on the trail anyone?
